  • Brand-driven Innovation student exercises

Towards the end of 2010, AVA published Brand-driven Innovation by Erik Roscam Abbing. Erik has since been using the book to teach his own class of strategic design student at TU Delft, in the Netherlands. These students have now uploaded their responses to the exercises that the book sets, and you can see these responses on the Brand-driven Innovation site (just hover over 'book' in the bar at the top of the page). One group wrote in reflections on the book: 'What we really love is that branding is defined as more than just slapping a tag on a product, but rather should be viewed as something that reflects the vision of the company.' Erik's students have started many interesting discussions and we are grateful to them for sharing their views! If you have used Brand-driven Innovation in your teaching or your studies, please join the conversation and share your thoughts.

  • WEDF and AVA Academia

The West of England Design Forum is using some of AVA's key titles to define various different design disciplines on its site. So far they have used text, extracted from several AVA Fundamentals titles, to help explain the areas of graphic design, branding and interior design, and more areas are currently being added. The Forum was set up in 2006 by a group of designers who wanted to develop a local design community and since then has continued to grow. You can follow them on Twitter @WEDesignForum.

  • Start of term sale!

We are currently running a start of term sale until 13th February 2012.

This sale is special because we will be reducing prices to the amount we normally reserve exclusively for our campus and event sales.

As we don't ask for postage and packaging for UK deliveries, you can receive

a Visual Dictionary to your door for as little as £10,

    a Basics book for £13,

    a Fundamentals title for £14

and a Required Reading Range title for £19.

These reductions are across all titles, so if you see an AVA book that would be helpful for your current course - or your future career - now is the time to order!
